About Us

Boy has it been a busy week! We finally decided to head out to Rocky Point with Tanner's family this last week only to have to delay it because he received a call back for a job interview. The interview went well, very interesting, but well, and maybe sometime within the next month or two we'll hear back. They're a very SLOW company. Then we headed off to the Mexico house!!! The weather was perfect! The girls had loads of fun and Deandra caught a fish!! Her fist ever!! I'll post pictures after Tara sends them to us...then on the way home from our fabulous trip to Mexico Cameron starts vomiting. So we finally make it home Saturday night only to have me, Valerie, start with the stomach bug. Cameron is still sick and not keeping anything down. Sunday night, the girls are playing magic show and Amanda makes a bead--her money--disappear into her ear. It's there on the surface of her ear hole so Daddy pulls out the tweezers to get hold of it. Then he turns his back only to find Amanda using the tweezers to get hold of it. Now it's in too far for Daddy to use the tweezers. Cameron and I are still not holding anything down. Monday morning Brianna starts complaining that she's having "yucky hurting pooh-poohs" Tanner's not holding anything down, Cameron's not holding anything down, Valerie's not holding anything down. Krista and Deandra go to school, I call the Dr’s office before they open and leave a message for Lettie. We have an appointment to see Dr. Jones at 11am for Amanda’s ear. I pick up Deandra early from Kindergarten, and take Amanda in. I run into one of my college roommates in the waiting room! I feel like, well, you know, and I’m barely holding it together. It’s our turn and Dr, Jones looks at the bead in Amanda’s ear, it’s in too far for Dr. Jones to get out. They set up an appointment within the hour for Amanda at a specialist’s office. We grab some lunch and head over there. Dr. Shaw was very nice. It’s in too far for him. We are then scheduled to go to the surgery center for a 9am knockout session for Amanda to have the bead removed from her ear. She’s happy. Nobody’s touching her ear for the rest of the day! I pick up kids from school on way home from Dr.’s office. I’m seriously struggling to keep my stomach contents inside where nobody else can see or smell them. Cameron’s stopped eating and drinking and is looking really unlike himself and hasn’t peed since we left Mexico, except the one time he left a puddle on the floor, but the Dr. say’s that didn’t really count. Tanner’s stomach is still not keeping anything in it and Brianna is just watching TV. Some how I manage get the kids into bed and then I leave with Cameron for the nearest emergency room. Dr. comes in only to be interrupted less then 2 minutes of assessment, he looked in Cameron’s ears and declared him to have ear infections and wanted to check for urinary tract infection. Cameron’s too dehydrated to get blood work taken without collapsing his veins. 4 veins later he receives about 1/3 of a SMALL bag of fluid with antibiotics and nausea medicine in it. He is acting worse then when we brought him in. Then they “take” a urine sample form him using a catheter and a serenge. 6to 7 hours later he’s more lethargic than when we went in and we’re told to leave and give him oral antibiotics –when I can’t even get him to put ANYTHING NEAR HIS MOUTH. I go home with him in tow and sleep next to him because I’m worried about him. He still isn’t peeing. I sleep for 3 hours then get up with Tanner who still isn’t keeping his stomach and Amanda to get the bead taken out of her ear. Brianna’s fine. Krista has an awards program that morning so I take lethargic Cameron and my upset stomach to the school to be there for Krista. Amada did great! I call Cameron’s Dr. who said to bring him in. I get half way there and Cameron starts screaming. And then a very potent urine smell fills the car. HE PEED!!! I talk to Dr’s office again and they said to take him home and put him to bed. Yes the hospital should NOT have released him till he urinated there on his own, but since he finally did, let him sleep and try to get him to start eating or drinking ANYTHING. So we turn around and he wants a Popsicle. YEA!!! We fill his antibiotics and pump him full of Tylenol, that was a sticky mess. But about 4 hours later that smell came again, along with some serious screaming! I personally hate urinary tract infections, I can’t image poor baby with it!!! Tanner gets kindergarteners on way home from surgery center with Amanda and her super clean ears. We all take a nap and I go get kids from school. Wednesday is Deandra’s kindergarten graduation! Everybody’s a bit better. Cameron decided to drink some juice!!! We’re making progress! My stomach isn’t 100% but I’m not in bed!! Tanner’s not too far behind me!! Thursday is class parties and ½ day of school and Friday everybody slept in!!! Cameron’s now filling his diaper without screaming, he’s still not 100% but he’s LOADS better! Mine and Tanner’s stomachs are in check and nobody else is sick! I think we made it! What a week!!! Now, SUMMER!!!

Wow Valerie! What a day for you the day I saw you. I know what it is like. I am always running around doing stuff for my kids. Was it this hard for our moms when we were kids. If if was I just don't remember it! Thank goodness. It was really good to see you again!
