He's here!!!! Cameron Miles Potterf was born at 5:30pm, Monday, November 3rd, 2008. He measured in at 20 inches long, and 7lbs. 5oz. Our biggest one yet!!! He has lots of dark hair, all the girls were fairly bald, and dark eyes. I'm still amazed that something that big was in and came out of me!! For all those women who enjoy birthing stories, mine isn't too exciting. I woke up Monday around 630 with cramps that didn't go away by the time my Dr. opened, so I called and he was at the hospital delivering babies that morning and wouldn't be in till the afternoon, and the nurse was out till Dr. came in, also. The receptionist suggested that I head on over to the hospital just to be on the safe side, and so I loaded up the kids, dropped them off at Stephen & Stephanie’s and met Tanner at their house. Still had constant cramping, and couldn’t tell past the uncomfortable cramps if I was contracting or not. Oh, and fixing the girls’ breakfast and lunches made me sick, so I was completely empty!! We get there and hooked up to the monitors to find out I AM contracting, only they were 20 minutes apart and NOT in labor. But they called my Dr. anyways and I was dilated to a 3 ½-4 which is something I’ve never done before on my own, so yea!! Another milestone for me! Dr. came in and checked me and then said he’d be back, and when he did he said it was my LUCKY day because he talked the hospital schedulers or whomever it is you have to convince to be induced that I should go ahead and be induced! Well, they got me into a room and hooked up to fluids and all that needle stuff that I really don’t like and then Dr. came in and broke my water, the nurse started the oxytocin and then the Anesthesiologist came in and gave me an epidural and from the time they started the oxytocin at 2:30pm, till I delivered Cameron Miles at 5:30pm, it was a whole 3 hours!! I had maybe 15 minutes of pushing, which is not easy when they just upped the epidural meds and your legs are past the floppy chicken stage and you can’t tell what’s going on for ANYTHING! Anyways, they let me keep my contacts in for the delivery, which was another 1st, and I was actually concous for the entire labor, delivery and clean up and moved to a recovery room! So, I’m still a novice for the going into labor on my own thing, but on the other hand we didn’t get sent home for false labor, either!

Yipee! I'm so glad he's here. When can we come? Okay, okay, I guess I'll let you have a couple days to recover. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Congrats, and I love birth stories, so thanks for the details. Get some REST!
