Brianna joined our family in June of 2002. She is named after her Great-Uncle Daniel Ray Potterf. She is our only natural curly blonde haired brown eyed beauty! Weighing in at 4 lbs. 13 oz. she melted into everybody’s hearts the moment they met her! She is now in the 1st grade and LOVING it! She loves to play dress-up and read and barbies. She mostly loves being around and playing with all of her sisters. When we found out we were having a baby boy a few months ago, her response was "We're doomed! We're doomed!" She is so adorable that everybody takes to her immediately and she just loves to play and snuggle into their laps. Right now she’s on a kick of getting “happy grahams” at school so she can go on a date with Mama or Daddy or pick a prize out of our treasure box at home. She has a goal of getting more than Krista does in a week, so far they’ve tied! She loves to write stories and chase after mermaids when swimming and try to find all the fairies that hide in the early morning sunshine. We couldn’t imagine our lives without our Brianna in it! She always has a smile and a hug that you can’t resist! She recently had the flu bug that kept her from enjoying the first 3 days of her Fall Break from school. She stayed home the Friday before, due to hugging the porcelain god. It only got worse from there. The poor thing had to be taken to the hospital on Monday to be re-hydrated. That was NOT fun! But she was quite the sport about it! She had to have an IV in her right hand and she didn’t cry or even flinch. All the nurses assisting us were so proud of her! They kept coming by to tell her how brave she was, even braver than the 14 year old boy who had been in there earlier. He cried and cried and complained. Whereas Brianna just sat there watching and holding Mama’s hand. After nearly 3 hours at the hospital being re-hydrated, they sent here home with some nausea medicine and instructions to drink LOTS and LOTS of Gatorade. Bless her little heart, she did! She did so well, that Mama and Daddy decided to let her go ahead and go to Rocky Point with Grammy and Papa for the weekend. They had invited her and Krista and their cousin Morgan to spend the weekend with them at the Mexico house. But, the poor thing evidently wasn’t 100% just yet as she developed a rash the 2nd night they were there. Her Papa gave her a priesthood blessing and she was feeling LOTS better, but by the time she got home on Saturday night, the rash was back and Mama was on the phone with the Dr’s again. She was over the flu, but having been so dehydrated, her body was reacting to not having quite enough fluids in her body again. So with Benedryl, a baking soda pasted bath—she really enjoyed being painted with baking soda paste!!!—and LOTS more Gatorade, the rash went away. Now Daddy is sick with it! What a sport! What a fall break! What a cutie!!!
